One way that I like to reach consumers is by offering something different than what everyone else has! If you’re trying to drive business to your optical (who isn’t!?), think outside the box when it comes to your marketing, services, and eyewear selection. If you carry the same frames as everyone on your block, what is compelling people to stop in your shop? Asking yourself questions like this on a weekly basis is important, and helps you to keep things fresh! Confront your teammates and your consumers and find out what they are looking for when they go into a business like yours. This will help you to eliminate the merchandise that isn’t moving and bring in something that will awaken your clientele.

With my business, one thing I offer on the eye wear side of things, is eco-friendly glasses. This goes hand in hand with my business design as I am focused on naturalistic care. I ONLY carry glasses that are made from recycled or bio-based materials, and have a charitable mission. Not only does this make people feel good when they purchase a pair of my glasses, but it sets me apart from my competition.
