INTERVIEW: Miguel Vilachá #VilacháEyewear
Share a story from the past 12 months.
It was in Barcelona, when we received our first batch of production of basically everything; from the frames to the packaging, it was incredible to physically see what you have imagined and worked so hard for years. Our first collection involved a great deal of creative work, conceptualization discussions, quality follow up rounds with the providers and many different tasks that the day Enrique, Julio and Me (co-founders) decided to go forward with this venture never imagined. We decided to go all three together to see the glasses displayed in the first store they were delivered to, it was just one of those “as good as it gets moments”.
You win the lottery. What happens next?
You will probably see Enrique, Julio and Me on the news a couple of weeks after. On that section were you see the CEO of a young company closing the market with a hammer at Wall Street; we will manage to make Vilachá Eyewear® so big, so fast, that you will be able to buy stocks of the company if you wanted to.
What movie should we see? How come?
“In Pursuit of Happiness” without a doubt. I’ll just leave you with a quote from Mr. Gardner played by Will Smith, you figure out the rest: "You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do something' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want something', go get it. Period."
One piece of advice for an inspiring optician?
Always put your best effort when doing something, anything! From the ‘smallest' details on your designs to the relationship with your customers, if you are going to do something, make something great! If you do it right, results will come sooner than later.
