Fighting Writer’s Blog, ahem Writer’s Block
You want to keep your blog content fresh, but where do you find the time or ideas?? Here are 5 tips:
Think Outside the Blog
What is a blog but a high-tech water cooler conversation? Get inspiration for posts based on what people around you are discussing. Think not just about your business, but the people that you work with and the people that you serve. People tend to be more interesting than things and everyone loves to tell their story. Think about your community as well, what do you have to share that can benefit it?
A blog post doesn’t have a length requirement like a term paper. Sometimes you may just want to share a photo with a clever caption or a link to an interesting article that you have some insight to add to.
As in a series. One brainstorm, many posts! You can highlight valued customers, share employee appreciation, feature new products, etc.
Always Have Your Camera
Truth is stranger than fiction and you never know when something out of the ordinary will happen around you that could inspire a post
Keep a list of your ideas, and what you’ve blogged about in the past so you can incorporate some variety. Set up a calendar to help you visualize this, whether it’s a google calendar, on your smart phone, or the old school variety. Pro tip: set an alarm for your deadline, they sneak up on you! Right Tim? ;)
