You Know It's Real When You Are Who You Think You Are!
Hello Optical Family! Whoa! It's March, my favorite month of the year. Yeah, my birth month. Anyway, I had to do a paper for my Organization Ethics, Behavior and Change class about brick-in-mortar Optical sales versus online optical sales. It was quite an eyeopener for me. As Opticians we all are conscious that prescription glasses, particularly frames are similar to clothes. You have to try them on and make sure they fit your specifications. One size does not fit all about both. Eyeglasses are, at their heart, about customization at its finest. While waist sizes and hem lengths are moderately standard, the same cannot be assumed for nose positions, head or cranial circumferences, PDs or any of the other amazing little complexities that form the phenomenal human face, each face slightly different. Something so personal requires detailed, individual and particular attention to perfect. With that being said, we as Opticians have a fantastic responsibility to our clientele. We fit eyewear, via measurements and recommendations to ensure our clients receive the best fit and best style according to their preferences along with the best optical vision pertaining to their prescription. Businesses call people who do this "Frame Stylists." I call professionals who do this type of work --- Opticians! Because fitting glasses are part of the many things that we do! We do so MUCH more! You see, I am an Optician. A passionate, superstar, FLY Optician that creates Optical Happiness daily! You know it's "real" when you are who you think you are. I genuinely hope that I inspire each one of you guys to be passionate about our craft. It's ours! We are remarkable individuals who do the work that we do. Simon Sinek, who is a great motivational speaker and author said, "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." I know why I do what I do. I am who I think I am!
