New Transitions Colors Keeping Up Style Trends

New Transitions Colors Keeping Up Style Trends

In the beginning of August, I sent off my Masunaga 9001 titanium aviator to the Transitions HQ in Florida to fill my prescription in a new Transitions technology yet to be released. My 9001 is my favorite aviator of all time and I have written more about the history of aviator sunglasses on my blog here,

but I digress. I was super excited to receive my sunglasses back with the new Transitions lenses. The color I chose changes from light grey to dark grey with a blue mirror.

As of this writing, I have been wearing them for the past several weeks I am totally digging the vibe of this new color. When worn indoors or in low light it is a nice shade of light grey, something the likes of which Robert Downey Jr. would wear. When you wear them out in the sun they darken to a nice dark grey, and what was a very faint blue flash mirror becomes a nice solid vibrant blue mirror. The mirror is mostly invisible before it darkens because mirrors need a dark color behind them to show up. Other colors are soon to be released, but for now, this is something of a prototype. In fact, Transitions has not yet even settled on a name for it, but I am sure it will be something cool. This new range of colors with mirrors by Transitions Optical will be available to the public soon. I know my fellow opticians who are readers of this blog are aware of the importance of being on the cutting edge of style trends and lens tech.  Keep your eyes open for this new technology from Transitions. That way you will be able to offer the best guidance and personalized experience to your patients and clients.
