Tips & Tricks

Our state’s optician association decided to reach out to our membership of seasoned opticians in search of volunteers to teach at our conventions. A colleague and I became ABO certified instructors and at our convention last month, we taught a Tips & Tricks class focusing on hand tools. We were able to pass along to the next generation of optician’s things that took us several years to realize. Our curriculum covered various lens mounting techniques, repairs, and workspace organization. At our next convention in the spring, the topic will be Frame Repair & Modifications. It’s important to educate and advise our young community of opticians, especially since they will one day replace us. Also, sharing our knowledge with those who are eager to learn is very fulfilling!
