Throwing a Rockin' Event! [Tim Slapnicher]
Art of Optiks (an independent optical boutique) hosted a frame trunk show featuring their latest eyewear collection from fashion icon Blake Kuwahara. This event, catered by local favorites, Chowgirls, created quite the buzz on a beautiful evening on the prestigious lakefront in downtown Wayzata, MN. Pictures by LocalPigeon.

1. Food & Drinks
Summary: If you’re going to provide food, do it right.
The meat and cheese plate and cookie tray days are over! If you want to go all-in, make the grub count. I was extremely impressed with the catering services (Chowgirls) provided for the Art of Optiks’ trunk show. The food was ah-maz-ing! The servers circulated the room with outrageously delicious food choices. They also had a bartender serving up your favorite beer, wine or cocktail. Many of the conversations overheard were focused on food and beverage…oh yeah, and a bit about some eyewear!
Summary: Buy-in from the team is HUGE!
I was greatly impressed with the committed team of optical professionals at Art of Optiks. This 5-hour event flew by! A great buzz was created by lots of energy, smiling faces, and an authentic excitement supporting the Blake Kuwahara trunk show. The team displayed hospitality at its finest! I especially loved how each of the opticians wore a pair of Blake Kuwahara’s eyewear. They were in it to win it!
3. Invite the Frame Designer
Summary: If you can land Blake Kuwahara at your event, you win.
