Service Charges [Holly Forstad]

We recently decided to make it official. We are charging fees for servicing eyewear purchased elsewhere.

There has been a surge in the number of walk-in "customers" that need a repair, adjustment or PD taken. I'm sure we're not the only optical noticing this. We have made the choice to send a message to both our existing clients and walk-ins that the services we provide are valuable. We're not actually trying to make money here. We're simply trying to give value to our skills and experience. (And hopefully make online purchasing seem a lot less appealing.)

We have a staff of very talented and skilled opticians....both certified and with many years of experience. Our skills are definitely of value! 

We posted this discreet and tasteful sign at our dispensing station three weeks ago. Surprisingly, we have received very little negative reaction and most customers are not at all surprised to find that we charge a fee.
