So as we start our new year we have a new piece of equipment to welcome into our office. We added a second exam lane and Dr. with that purchase we also added a Topcon NW400 Fundus Retinal image Camera. Needless to say we are all very excited to start using this new toy. The picture quality is amazing, and the ease of operation is so simple that anyone in the office can learn to use it in a matter of a few minutes. I especially like the thought of never having to dilate another patient again. With this camera we can see in a few seconds what used to take 20-30 minutes of extra exam time. Another great benefit is that Insurance companies are starting to offer this procedure with nominal co-pay’s. Does anyone else have a fundus retinal camera? How often do you use it?
