With so much info out there on lens technology, opticians are tempted to give patients waaaay too much info. It can make heads spin.
We follow the 80/20 rule for working with patients: Listen 80% of the time you spend with clients. Listen to how they use their eyes throughout the day. This will clue you in to what lens will fit their lifestyle needs. Talk 20% of the time and make it easy to understand. Let them know you will be giving them a lens option that will be best for them.
Know enough to be able to explain the technology in-depth to even the geekiest of engineers. But, find an easier way to describe that same technology to a kindergartener.
