Get Your Mojo Working: How Music Makes Everything Better At Work

During my first year as an Optician at Eyeballs, the radio was permanently set to a local classic rock station, because it was the only frequency that would come in clearly on our archaic system. Don't get me wrong, I Love Rock 'n' Roll, but a person can only hear Dark Side of the Moon and Hotel California so many times before contemplating a giant leap off the nearest Bridge Over Troubled Water. The Same Old Song and Dance was getting to me, but I wasn't about to Surrender. I shook off my Suicidal Tendencies, walked to the nearest Radio Shack, and begged for some guidance to hook up my MP3 player to our office Speakerboxxx. I paid $8.43 for an AC/DC cord that I used to rig up our awesome new Sound System, and we've been Rocking Into the Night ever since. We can now listen to a variety of music, like funk, jazz, old school hip-hop, and blues, and if I’m feeling like a Sentimental Lady, we can revert back to classic rock. Our ability to listen to music that suits our mood while we Work Hard For the Money keeps everyone happier, less stressed, and more productive, and really makes Working 9 to 5 a much more enjoyable experience. Our patients love our music selections and often start singing along and Dancing in The Streets. It has proven to us that it creates happier customers, which leads to more revenue, more return customers, more referrals, and just an all around better environment. If your office allows it, I recommend you Pump Up the Jam and help yourself, your staff, and your patients have a more enjoyable experience at your shop. I hope music brings joy to your life, both personally and professionally. Until next time, Goodbye Goodbye. SELECT to learn more about Lori Fender (Washington). VIEW Lori's entire blog.
