The Brave Hiawatha
Over the past 12 years as a sales representative for Ogi Eyewear I've heard some pretty good stories about Ogi frames, dogs, cars, lawn mowers. This one made me smile and I have to share.
An appointment today inevitably led to me showing the Hiawatha, a best-selling Seraphin frame, so the optician could reorder it again. I pulled the tray out and the optician looked up, smiled and said, "oh, the Hiawatha. I've got a great story". I was all ears.
"Three years ago one of our customers comes in completely distraught and beside herself. She had lost her favorite frame, the Hiawatha, she loved it, it was her favorite frame. It fit her perfectly and everyone complimented her on it wherever she went. She was crazy about this frame and convinced that she would find it she left without ordering a new one".
Fast forward three years...
"A couple of weeks ago this same woman comes busting through our door. Her clothes are all dirty and she's covered in dirt. In her hands is the Hiawatha. She had been gardening and digging in the dirt and found the long lost Hiawatha. Without even cleaning herself up she drove over handed me her frame and asked if I could fix it. The lens were a little crazed but the frame cleaned up and looked like new. She put them on her face and walked out reunited with her favorite frame".
So yes, the Hiawatha can brave a Minnesota winter. In fact, three.
